Anaphylaxis is a drive-now word. Call ahead so the ER can prepare.
| Scenario | Insect sting / allergic reaction |
|---|---|
| Vet vs poison control vs ER | Anaphylaxis is ER veterinary care. Poison control is secondary unless a toxin was also involved. |
You do not need a perfect allergy diagnosis to leave. Instability is enough.
Prior ER visits for stings should be mentioned immediately.
Ask the ER about future emergency plans. Store clinic numbers in your Emergency Passport.
Prevention and nest management come after the crisis.
This is general information, not a diagnosis. Contact your vet for anything urgent or unclear.
