Even companion Jack Russell Terriers can be working dogs if they hike, run, or do sport. Fueling is not “more kibble.” It is timing, water, and GI tolerance. Extra fat on a rest day becomes weight. Under-fueling on a trial day becomes a medical event. Keep a session log (duration, temperature, stool, water) next to the diet so a sports veterinarian can see the pattern.

   Offer water frequently. Electrolyte products are not automatic - GI upset is common.
