Under-fueling on a trial day becomes a medical event. Keep a session log (duration, temperature, stool, water) next to the diet so a sports veterinarian can see the pattern.

1. Rest day

   Maintenance calories

   Drop the sport toppers. This is how Boerboels stay in the 110-200 lb band.

2. T-3 h

   Pre-work meal

   Easily digested meal. Avoid high fat immediately before intense work.

3. During

   Water first

   Offer water frequently. Electrolyte products are not automatic - GI upset is common.

4. T+30 min

   Recovery

   Small meal after cool-down. Watch for collapse, brick-red gums, or unproductive retching.

   Audit

   If stools fall apart only on work days, the fuel - not a mystery allergy - is the suspect.
