Immediate action steps
- Go to an ER immediately
- Keep the eye moist with sterile saline or clean water-soaked gauze if advised while racing out
- Prevent rubbing
- Do not try to push the eye back in yourself
- Call ahead so ophthalmology-capable care can prepare

Brachycephalic breeds are overrepresented after trauma or restraint incidents.
Any breed can proptose after significant head trauma.

Pushing the eye back incorrectly causes more damage. Moist protection and speed are your jobs.
